About

Why we built this

Most owners of trade and service businesses — HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, cleaning, auto repair — have the majority of their net worth sitting inside the business. Not in a brokerage account. Not in real estate. In the company itself. And most of those businesses are hard to sell, for reasons the owner usually discovers at the worst possible moment: when a health scare, a burnout year, or an unexpected offer forces the question.

A business that depends entirely on the owner, runs on handshake bookkeeping, or leans on a handful of big customers can be a great living and still be worth far less than the owner assumes. The gap between what the business pays you and what the business would sell for is usually fixable — but only with time. XitWisely exists so owners find that out years before they need to, not months after.

What you actually get

It starts with a free AI readiness scan. You answer questions about how the business actually runs, and XitWisely computes an exit-readiness score from 0 to 100. The score is deterministic — it comes from fixed, published signals: owner dependence, financial visibility, team depth, customer concentration, and recurring revenue. Same answers, same score, every time.

From there, the score places you on one of four pathways: Sell Now, Build to Exit, Manager-Managed, or PE 2.0. The assignment is decided by fixed thresholds, never by AI. Each pathway comes with a month-by-month roadmap of concrete tasks — the specific work that moves a business from hard-to-sell toward ready-to-sell. An AI advisor works alongside you through that roadmap, and value estimates are always shown as ranges drawn from industry broker guides.

How we keep it honest

Our working rule is simple: honest numbers or no numbers. We don’t publish fabricated social proof — no invented customer counts, no manufactured testimonials. Value estimates are educational ranges, not appraisals, and we say so every time they appear. And the score only moves when your answers change — the AI cannot nudge it, and there is no way to talk it upward without changing what you report. Answer honestly, and a rising score means the business got easier to sell.

The same line applies to what XitWisely is not. It is AI-assisted and educational. It is not legal, tax, or financial advice, and it does not replace the licensed professionals you’ll want at the table when a real transaction is in front of you.

Who it’s for

XitWisely is built for owners of trade and service businesses doing roughly $500K to $25M in revenue who are thinking one to five years ahead — or who suddenly need to think sooner. If you have ever wondered what the business is actually worth, whether it could run without you, or what you would do if a buyer called tomorrow, this is for you. You don’t need a CFO, a data room, or a banker to start. You need an honest read on where you stand.
